| Instructor Profile: | Bill Pickett from Knoxville TN is retired from over 38 years working in computer technology and professional teaching in both university and private industry. Although Bill still does part time consulting work, his passion is tai chi. He has been studying tai chi and qigong since 1987 and teaching since 2001. His experience includes Wu, Yang, Wudang, Sun, 18 Form Tai Chi Qigong (Shibashi), Healing Sounds & Animal Movements, and various other forms. Bill and his wife, Linda, became involved in Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Community in 2005 and have attended many workshops and certification courses since then. They teach several classes a week in the Knoxville area and give presentations and demonstrations for local health fairs, Arthritis and Diabetes support groups, and community organizations promoting the benefits and encouraging qigong and tai chi practice. They are also active with the local Arthritis Foundation promoting instructor classes and providing continuing education as needed. Recently Bill and Linda were selected as ‘movers of the month’ for promoting Tai Chi in the Tennessee Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. |
