| Instructor Profile: | Sifu Guy C. Prentice has practiced the martial arts since 1969. He started teaching Tai Chi in 1987 and to senior adults in 1995. Guy is primarily interested in teaching Dr. Lam’s tai chi programs and in certifying new instructors through the TCA workshops. He teaches Tai Chi for Arthritis I and II, Tai Chi for Diabetes and Tai Chi for Back Pain the year around in adult living centers, senior recreation centers and as part of High School continuing education programs. He is a Director and past President of The Rochester T’ai Chi Ch’uan Center, a New York State education institution. He is a lifetime member of the United States Chinese Kuoshu Association and a Certified International Referee of tai chi chuan and Chinese martial arts. In addition to DR. Paul Lam he is certified by Grandmaster William C. C. Chen, Master Chen Yun-Ching and by Master Y. W. Chang in Yang and Chen Pan-Ling t’ai chi ch’uan. He holds 2 gold and 2 bronze medals for t’ai chi ch’uan form in international competition. He has also studied among other related pursuits: Tai Chi sword, Shiatsu Massage, Ayurvedic Healing, Sun 73 Competition Forms, Iron Shirt Chi Kung, Bone Marrow Nei Kung, International Competition 42 and 24 Forms tai chi. Guy retired at 42 from Xerox Corporation as a Program Manager for Information Systems Development. Now he is the owner and president of IATB Consulting, Inc. which specializes in the development of internet based small businesses, specializing in one-to-one marketing and mass customization. He is honored in “Who’s Who Internationally”, the International Executive Guild, the Sterling Who’s Who Executive Directory and holds a lifetime certification from the Data Processing Management Association. |
